Mission: Shepherding God’s People in Truth and Love

The Elders’ Department at Najjanankumbi Seventh-day Adventist Church exists to support the spiritual life of the church by working hand in hand with the pastoral team—fostering unity, nurturing members, and upholding Bible-based leadership. Elders are called to serve as spiritual shepherds, helping the church grow in faith, order, and mission.

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.” – 1 Peter 5:2

As local leaders, elders also support the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church by guiding the congregation in living out the Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14:6–12 and preparing hearts for Christ’s soon return.

Our Role: Lead. Nurture. Serve.

The Elders’ Department supports the church’s vision and mission by:

• Spiritual Leadership
  Supporting the pastor in leading worship services, prayer meetings, and administering church ordinances such as communion and baptism.

   

• Discipleship & Visitation
  Providing spiritual guidance and encouragement through home visits, prayer, and personal ministry.

   

• Church Unity & Order
  Promoting unity, resolving conflicts with biblical wisdom, and ensuring church activities remain aligned with scripture and Adventist principles.

   

• Sermon & Study Leadership
  Leading out in preaching, teaching, and facilitating Bible study when needed.

   

• Mentorship & Support
  Nurturing future leaders, including deacons, deaconesses, youth, and emerging elders.
