Zimba Ekanisa Yo means “build your church”. As the Seventh-day Adventist Church Najjanankumbi celebrates 75 years of ministry, we are extending and rebuilding our church premises so that every worshipper has a seat and every ministry has a home. Construction is under way, and every gift moves it forward.
Why we are building
Our church began in 1948 with 13 members meeting in a home. God has blessed that small fellowship through door-to-door evangelism, public meetings, medical camps, prison ministry and youth work, and through mission centres such as Bbunga and Busega. Today the congregation has outgrown our 450-seat sanctuary.
Ministries like KIDAYO and NYMS, vocational skilling for young people and our outreach to the community keep bringing new people in. The extension creates space for about 500 more worshippers and gives these ministries room to grow.
What we are building
- A larger main sanctuary with a raised pulpit that holds the choirs and the serving pulpit team at the same time.
- A children’s chapel, church offices and a dining area.
- A residence for our pastors, with guest rooms for visiting church officials and ministers.
- A multi-level parking deck, so members and visitors can park safely on Sabbath.
- New restrooms, better access for everyone, improved sound and lighting, and a nursery.
